Invitation to Bid


The Washington County Museum will be accepting bid proposals from General Construction Contractors for the addition of an exhibit gallery and ADA restrooms.

The Washington County Museum is located at 102 North 14TH Street, Fort Calhoun, Nebraska 68023.

The project consists of:

  • A North Addition that will be a specialized exhibit room.
    • Construction consists of:
      • approximately 1500 sf on the main level, with a basement that will provide necessary storage for other collections.
  • A West Addition will be for new ADA compliant restrooms and a mechanical room.
    • Construction is approximately 780 sf on the main level with no basement.

Monday, July 15, 2024 @ 8:30 a.m. Pre-bid meeting at the Washington County Museum.

This meeting is to provide a walk-through of the museum and give an opportunity for interested parties to meet with the Museum’s Architect and Project Manager, Coale Johnson.  We encourage any interested contractors and/or sub-contractors to attend this meeting to better understand the project requirements before submitting a bid.

 Friday, July 26, 2024 @ 11 a.m.   Bids Due on or before this date

Please deliver in a sealed envelope to:

Washington County Museum

102 N. 14th Street

Fort Calhoun, NE  68023

If mailed, they must be mailed to the Museum’s post office box 25 and received on or before Friday, July 26, 2024 @ 11 a.m.

Bids must be prepared and submitted using the bid forms that will be provided and must be signed and authorized in ink. Bids received after the bid closing date and time listed above will not be accepted. All bids received by the above-mentioned deadline shall be reviewed by The Washington County Museum’s staff and Board of Directors.

Contractor Selection will be made quickly so that construction can begin in August 2024.


You are reminded to only bid on the items designated in the work write up form. All additional items

and tasks will be considered separately from the base bid, should the owner request additional work or delete any tasks from the original scope of work.

If selected, you will receive a Bid Award Notice, which will advise the contractor of the date, time, and location of the project kick-off that must take place before work can start.
